W.net Hires Managing Director |

|
W.net announced today the appointment of its new
Managing Director, Victoria Tobin.
Ms. Tobin’s role will be to facilitate the
vision of W.net’s Board of Trustees and assist in numerous strategic initiatives
already underway at W.net, including the mentorship program, networking events
for industry professionals, and a Career Development and Leadership Summit.
Ms.
Tobin joins W.net with more than ten years of association experience, which includes
work with both professional and trade organizations. She previously served as
the Executive Director of the National Association of Professional Geriatric
Care Managers. Ms. Tobin earned her B.A. at Stonehill College in North Easton,
MA, where she studied Political Science and Communication. She resides in
Tucson, Arizona.

Regulators OK First Data Acquisition |

WASHINGTON -- Federal antitrust regulators on Friday approved First Data Corp.'s purchase of online banking and bill payment provider FundsXpress Inc. According to a Federal Trade Commission notice, the government has completed its investigation of the sale and ended a waiting period on the transaction. Omaha, Neb.-based First Data provides electronic payment services to financial institutions and businesses. Terms of its acquisition of FundsExpress were not disclosed.. FirstData said in April that it is being acquired by an affiliate of private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. for about $27 billion in cash. First Data's shares rose a penny to $32.52 in after-hours trading, after falling 3 cents to close at $32.51.
