Advocacy
  • Government Relations
ETA works with Congressional offices and committees to represent our members' interests and to make sure that those interests receive a full and fair consideration in the development of legislation that affects the payments industry. We also engage, through outreach and education, the executive branch agencies and policymakers whose decisions often affect our members and the way they do business.

  • Regulatory Affairs
The activities of independent regulatory agencies have a profound effect on the business of electronic transactions, both directly and through the regulation of banks and other financial services enterprises. ETA monitors the development and implementation of regulatory bodies and, where possible, we participate in the regulatory process by educating and informing agencies regarding our members and their businesses.

  • Industry Relations
ETA maintains ongoing relationships with industry organizations and enterprises which play an important role in the self-regulation of the payments industry, including the major card brands, industry self-regulatory bodies and other associations.
