The Aegenis Group Renews Contract as Trainer for PCI-SSC PDF Print E-mail
The Aegenis Group has re-signed with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) to be the worldwide trainer of Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs). The contract marks a renewal of the existing relationship between The Aegenis Group and the PCI-SSC. Last year, The Aegenis Group trained over 1,000 QSAs and the coming year should see almost 50% more trainees attending the sessions.

"The Aegenis Group's long experience with the security requirements of the Payment Card Industry and with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) make them a logical choice to conduct the training," said Robert Russo, General Manager of the PCI SSC. "We were pleased to renew the contract, as their deep knowledge of both the industry and the PCI DSS ensures that the training the QSAs receive will be consistent and comprehensive.

The Aegenis Group, founded by Chris Mark, CISSP, CIPP and Michael Dahn, MSIA, CISSP, also provides training and other services to merchants and acquiring banks. "It's vitally important that the industry as whole, not just the QSAs, understand the risks associated with the storage of sensitive data and the ways in which that data can be protected," said Chris Mark, CEO and President. "We view our position as a liaison between those obligated to comply with the PCI DSS and those that assess companies against that standard. Broadening the understanding between the constituents in the industry serves everyone's interest - from the consumers to the card brands."

The agreement between The Aegenis Group and the PCI-DSS is through December 31, 2008. The Aegenis Group will train consultants both domestically and internationally. The training is required of any consultant that will be conducting compliance assessments against the PCI DSS. These QSAs must also be employed by a Qualified Security Assessment Company.
