The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) has developed an updated version of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), version 1.2, which was released on October 1, 2008. A number of major requirements were not changed, and the majority of the changes were wording changes that clarify certain sub-requirements.
