This is, of course, the final issue of Transaction Trends for 2008, so before anything else, I want to extend a heartfelt ‘happy holidays’ to our readers from all of us at the magazine and ETA.

It’s been a tumultuous year, and one that we’re all likely to remember for a long time. Looking back at the forecasts we published not quite a year ago, for example, I’m struck by how much the underlying fundamentals have been altered by recent events, even if many of the specific predictions turned out to be relatively accurate. And the changes have just begun.
